Heat Press for Printing Tees

If you happen to be looking for Kansas City T-shirt printing at its finest, then you have come to the right place. We set the standard when it comes to the production of custom screen printing and digital T-shirt printing throughout the Midwest. Over the years we have seen our industry turned upside down with the advances in production equipment. What was impossible, as well as impractical, less than 10 years ago is completely doable now. People normally find us by doing a search such as Kansas City screen printing company or custom embroidery and we pop up normally on the landing page.

We have access to the very finest state of the art equipment that our industry has to offer. One particular piece of hardware that you find in most shops is the heat press. This is normally used for applying names and numbers to baseball jerseys. Although some of them are now digital, they still pretty much work the same way through heat and pressure. Although these machines are pretty simple as well as reliable, they still require a minimal amount of maintenance and should be checked out from time to time to keep them operating at their optimal level. There is a rubber pad at the bottom of the lower platen that after a certain amount of time can tend to wear out. A few different things can happen to it such as it can develop divots and also can become spongy or even develop hot spots. Make sure that your pad is well secured and not lose. If any of these things become apparent, you can normally contact the manufacturer and purchase a new one for a reasonable price. They are very easy to install and well worth the effort. If the integrity of the pad happens to be compromised, it will not be able to have adequate or even pressure during the application. The next thing you should check out is the electrical connections. Make sure that none of the wires are cracked or broken. You might even want to check out the electrical plug to make sure it has a ground prong. Nowadays most electrical codes in most states require that the machine should be grounded. The next thing you should check out is the heating element as it can develop cold spots. You can measure the temperature of the element by acquiring temperature tabs. Place these tabs on all four corners as well as the middle of the heat plate. As these tabs heat up, they will start to turn a dark color. Make sure that all of them are the same exact color as this will indicate that the temperature is going to be consistent throughout the entire plate. If the temperature doesn’t get hot enough, then the application is going to be compromised and you’re not going to get a good finished product. Another method of testing how hot your unit is getting is by using a tool called an infrared thermometer. These usually have a digital readout and are easy and inexpensive to acquire. They also can come in handy later on down the line if you happen to want to see how cold your wine is before you open it.

Owning A Screen Printing and Embroidery Company

We do the overwhelming amount of our business two ways. The first way is repeat orders. The same guy that orders short sleeved apparel this month will usually call us back three or four months down the road when the season changes and he will be looking for long sleeved dress shirts or jackets, and maybe even custom embroidery on hats. The other way we get our work is by good referrals. There are a lot of Kansas City screen printing companies that won’t take on an order when the quantity is small. I can certainly understand that because there’s obviously a very limited amount of money that can be made on catering to just 12 items. That being said, just because this guy doesn’t need a lot of product doesn’t mean he doesn’t know people. He might have a friend or even a family member who was in a band and might be in need of T-shirt printing in a much higher volume. You never know where it’s going to lead so we cater to every job with the exact same protocol and give it the same respect regardless if it’s just twelve items or whether it’s 500 pieces.

We are a Kansas City embroidery company that has been catering to the digital T-shirt printing requirements of our great city for many years. We believe that we have the right approach as well as solutions in order to offset the challenges you might be facing, like a limited budget or a very short turnaround time. We are a big believer in communicating especially during the production process. We encourage our potential customer to give us a call if they have any questions or concerns and we will do the same. This lends itself to having the order process in a timely manner and helps to ensure that you’re going to be well pleased with the service that we provide for you long before you ever go to open up a box of completed apparel. Experience has taught us that this is not a good time to ask you if you like the product or not. At that point, it’s completed and nothing more can be done. We will provide you with a completed sew out as long as your delivery time will allow for it. We also prefer to provide a virtual example of the logo. In this way, if something needs to be edited, it is no big deal. The only problem with a virtual example is that every computer monitor is calibrated different from another and therefore it is not a 100% accurate representation of color. Depending on the lighting and camera that you used as well as if you’re viewing it on a cell phone or a high-end monitor, it is going to appear differently.

There is no substitute for an actual swatch that you can hold in your hand and view. T-shirts are the same way. everything looks good on the website but that doesn’t really represent the quality or the way it fits. We encourage you to use a local Kansas City embroidery company like ourselves in order to keep the money right here in town and it will also help the job to run quicker and more efficiently than an out-of-town company.

What Is 4-Color Process Printing?

The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. CMYK refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black). Process printing refers to the technique of printing a full spectrum of colors using halftones of these four primary colors layered over each other. These 4 transparent ink colors can be used in combination, with varying degrees of transparency, to create any color. Though it varies widely depending on the operator and other factors, ink is typically applied in the order of the abbreviation.

The “K” in CMYK stands for key because in four-color printing, cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully keyed,or aligned, with the key of the black key plate.

The CMYK model works by partially or entirely masking colors on a lighter, usually white, background. Therefore, we recommend a white or natural color t-shirt when using this process for printing. The ink reduces the light that would otherwise be reflected. Such a model is called subtractive because inks “subtract” brightness from white. This process works well for very colorful logos or images with many halftones. In doing it this way, the maximum number of screens needed are four. Therefore the price of the custom tee shirt will be less because you are only paying for four screens.

In additive color models such as RGB, white is the “additive” combination of all primary colored lights, while black is the absence of light. In the CMYK model, it is the opposite: white is the natural color of the paper or other background, while black results from a full combination of colored inks. To save money on ink, and to produce deeper black tones, unsaturated and dark colors are produced by using black ink instead of the combination of cyan, magenta and yellow.

Starting Your Own Business

In today’s day in age with lay offs, cut backs, and restructuring of companies, many may find themselves in a bad position. Depending on where you live in the country, unemployment may be high and finding another job may not be easy. Some may do something completely different than they ever have before. They may look now in starting their own business.

There are many pros and cons to owning your own business. Here are a few of the perks:

  • You are your own boss.
  • You can do something potentially that you’re passionate about.
  • You have a flexible schedule.
  • You can make as much or as little money as you want. There is no cap on your salary.
  • Depending on the type of business, you can often times work remotely. This means that you can still be doing business while on the golf course or on the beach.

Here are a few of the potentially negative points:

  • You are your own boss, which means that it is all up to YOU. No one else to point the finger at.
  • It is very hard work to start up a business from the ground floor. You will spend many hours each day in selling, marketing, and producing.
  • Depending on the type of business, there may be a lot of competition out there. Do your homework.
  • You must be a goal and task oriented. You can’t be lackadaisical. You must be intentional.

For my line of work, I have chosen custom screen printing, digital printing, and custom embroidery. I have been in this type of business for over twenty years now. I can tell you that it is a lot of work, but it is rewarding also. Not everyone is naturally an entrepreneur, but most everyone can learn. I am not good at everything concerning my business. That is why I surround myself with great people who can do the things with excellence that I can’t, for example, accounting. I hire an accountant to do my books, keeping me in line as it concerns the IRS.

If you have any needs for custom silk screening or custom embroidery and live in the Kansas City area, please let us know. We will get back with you in a very timely manner with a quote for items that are needed. They could be anything from t-shirts, jackets, sweat shirts, or any type of wearable garment.

The level of detail has evolved when it comes to corporate apparel. The attention to fit, design, and features are just a few of these apparel details. Even more prominent is the importance of women’s styles.

It used to be that the only difference in men’s and ladies corporate apparel was the size. In today’s market, it’s imperative that women’s styles are designed with a specific fit and unique shape in mind.

Many of our customers expect a feminine look and appeal when it comes to women’s styles. I am sure that there is not a woman out there that hasn’t had the experience of trying of clothing and the clothing does not flatter your figure. No aspect of the process is spared.

Many years ago there were not many women in the corporate world. That definitely has changed. Women want to look good and feel good in their clothes, even if it is a type of uniform with a corporate logo on it.

Apparel in the United States of America

The current state of the industry isn’t as big as it used to be. The history of apparel manufacturing in the USA goes as far back as the early settlers. The first cotton mill was opened in 1790. Soon afterwards, that mill was producing the mechanical loom for completing cloth as well as mechanized cotton carding and spinning.

After this innovation at the turn of the century, many textile mills continued to pop up in the east coast, each employing hundreds of workers. At the time of the Civil War, there were reportedly more than two million spindles in more than 1,200 cotton factories and 1,500 woolen factories in America.

The apparel industry at the turn of the 20th century was booming across the east coast, especially in New York City. In 1911, a great tragedy happened in one of these factories where 145 workers were killed in a fire. Because of this, unions stepped in to demand safer working environments in these factories. There were many reforms to help prevent future disasters, along with stronger labor unions.

The domestic apparel production continued through the highs and lows of both world wars, economic, and cultural changes. There were also dramatic changes to fashion. Things changed, however, in the 1970’s when mills started to be concerned with the newly-thriving international market.

Apparel eventually became a low cost imported commodity which would force companies that sold American made goods to shut their doors. By the 1990’s, the vast majority, approximately 80% of apparel production, was produced overseas. Today in 2014 some of that business is coming back to the states. Many people want American-made garments, including a number of our customers in Kansas City, MO that want custom screen printing and custom embroidery. Today there are manufacturers that offer more options – domestic or international tee shirts and other garments. Please give us a call for your free quote request in Kansas City, MO for your custom screen printing or embroidery needs. Style versus function for athletic wear

Let’s face it. There are so many options and choices for virtually everything, especially in the United States. Athletic wear is no different. Many people, not just athletes are wearing athletic wear in Kansas City, MO. Sportswear is no longer just for the gym or the athlete. It is not uncommon to see someone in a Nike or Adidas tee shirt. Brand recognition is a huge thing. Everyone wants not only function, but also style. One type of material that is very popular now is called moisture wicking or dri-fit. This is a type that pulls moisture from your body so that you are more comfortable. A runner will especially appreciate this function of the t-shirt. Many companies and individuals are now requesting the moisture wicking material for their custom screen printed or embroidered tshirts and golf shirts. This material holds up very well and comes in many styles and fits, for example, sleeveless tees, fit tees, shorts, golf shirts, etc., etc. Yes, we offer the name brands like Nike or Adidas, but we also offer many other brands that are more competitive in price. Gildan is now the industry leader for activewear. Gildan makes very good apparel with the moisture wicking material, but it does not have the high price tag as the name brands. We can supply all your needs for custom screen printing and embroidery. That would include t-shirts, golf shirts, jackets, headwear, etc., etc. We have been in this line of business for 20 years. Custom screen printing and embroidery in Kansas City, MO

Have you ever thought of starting your own custom screen printing and/or embroidery business? Possibly it is the farthest thing from your mind, but I would like to tell you about my journey. Starting your own business is not easy, by any means. However, if you’re anything like me, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and you would rather invest your time and money into your own company than into someone else’s. I have always worked for myself. I can’t imagine life any other way. I have had many businesses, such as painting, screen printing and embroidery, and asphalt. When I started all of these companies, I was not an expert. What I did have was a lot of drive, passion, and determination. Especially, in my younger days, the pressure was on me to provide for my family. So with that pressure, I kept on. I wanted to be a good provider. I have had a lot of success over the years. My greatest success has been in the custom screen printing business. Who knew that I could make a great living by selling custom printed t-shirts and embroidered caps or shirts?
